The Floyd County Board of Education announces that the deadline for any parent wishing to enroll a child in the Floyd County Virtual Academy is August 2, 2021.
Chief High School Instructional Officer Brent Rose comments, “We will be having a virtual academy and completed applications are due by August 2, 2021. Applying to this academy means that you want your child to attend virtually for the 2021-2022 school year. We want to be clear that it isn’t like last school year when some students changed from in-person to virtual and vice versa throughout the year.”
Rose continued, “Any student from Kindergarten to 12th grade is eligible for the Virtual Academy. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will need to be online the majority of the day. Students in middle and high school may log in and out but must be online each day. Students who attend our Virtual Academy cannot participate in any extra or co-curricular activities.”
The Virtual Academy is open to the first 500 students who register. If you have any questions, please contact Principal Stacy Shannon at 606-285-3634 or [email protected]
